Programs and Activities

In the Ticonderoga Central School District, the focus of the Safe School Healthy Students project will be in the elementary school. The elementary school will lead the district in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), a program designed to train faculty and staff to most effectively use positive behavior support.

This project will also support the following in both schools: a substance abuse prevention educator one day a week and three prevention programs; emotional wellness screenings; developmental asset building; a family resource center, which will include parent education, a parent lending library and a weekly play group for children from birth to 5 years of age; safety and crisis response assessments; adventure based learning; an on-site mental health professional and case worker one day a week; and a Primary Mental Health Project consultant.
