The Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country will provide early childhood learning programs and services to Safe Schools/Healthy Students school districts in both Clinton and Essex Counties.
Family resource centers will be operated in seven elementary school buildings and parent education workshops will be offered on a countywide basis to promote early childhood development and parenting skills.
The family resource centers will serve the community by providing weekly parent-child interactive playgroups, free developmental screenings, and a parent lending library. In addition, early childhood learning specialists will assist families in linking to valuable community resources available to meet their unique needs.
Parent education workshops will be made available to families living within the Communities of One service area. Centrally located in each county, workshops will focus on developing parenting skills using the research-based program, The Incredible Years.
