Champlain Valley Educational Services
CVES is the lead education agency (LEA) for the Safe Schools/Healthy Students project known as Communities of One. The offices of the project administrator and school community coordinator are located in the Instructional Services Center in Plattsburgh. CVES is responsible for the overall management of the project including the coordination, implementation, evaluation, and fiscal oversight. The project administrator is directly responsible for generating federal reports and maintaining the fiscal integrity of the project.
There are five school districts participating in the Safe Schools/Healthy Students project in both Clinton and Essex Counties including: AuSable Valley, Moriah, Northern Adirondack, Saranac, and Ticonderoga. Although many of the activities supported by the Communities of One project target elementary school students, a district-wide focus to promote positive learning environments will be implemented using the Supporting Positive School Environments framework.
