Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES), Essex County Sheriff’s Office, and Clinton County Sheriff’s Office will provide school safety services.
The CVES safety facilitator will conduct safety audits at each of the five participating school districts. Audits will be completed at each school building and results reviewed with school personnel. The CVES facilitator will work with each district to identify ways to maximize school safety.
Clinton and Essex County Sheriff’s Offices will work with participating school districts in their respective counties to build a crisis intervention coalition. This coalition will allow a forum for law enforcement officers and school district personnel to align district crisis intervention plans with law enforcement crisis response procedures to maximize effectiveness and reduce risk of harm. In addition, law enforcement partners will assist districts in delivering personal safety activities targeting elementary students.
